Williams

Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited, currently racing in Formula One as Williams Racing, is a British Formula One motor racing team and constructor. It was founded by Sir Frank Williams and Sir Patrick Head in 1977. It is one of the oldest and most successful teams in Formula One history, having won nine Constructors’ Championships and 128 races.

The team was formed after Frank Williams’s automotive engineering career ended with the closure of his previous team, Frank Williams Racing Cars, which he established in 1969 to build Formula Three cars for customers. He bought the DNA of another defunct British racing team, Brabham, which had won two World Drivers’ Championships with Jack Brabham and Denny Hulme between 1966 and 1970.
